Intelligent Hotel for Sample Storage

ToDo:

  • Develop an automated sample hotel with color-coded position indication.
  • Select and integrate an LED system to indicate the status of each sample position:
    • Available for new samples
    • Currently in processing
    • Processing completed
  • Implement hardware integration for the LED system and communication with the sample handling system.
  • Develop control software to manage LED status updates based on sample workflow, preferably in C++ or Python.
  • Test the system to ensure correct status display, reliability, and user-friendliness.
  • Document hardware selection, software implementation, and testing results.

 Skills / Knowledge required:

  • C++  programming for hardware integration and automation.
  • Basic understanding of robotics or automated sample handling systems.
  • Knowledge of LED systems and microcontroller-based control (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar).
  • Hardware-software integration, including communication protocols (USB, I2C, or serial).
  • Ability to design test protocols and validate system functionality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
